The Tartan Skirt takes inspiration from traditional checkered patterns of kain pelikat which originated from Pulicat, India and marries it with a modern-retro box pleat patterned skirt. It is mid century modern chic while providing movement and breathability, perfect for our climate.
Scottish troops stationed in South India in the 18-19th centuries inspired this tartan motif kebaya kutubaru as an extension of the Madras checks.
The box pleat skirt comes with a elasticated waist band on its side and dual pockets. It can be paired with the matching kebaya kutubaru or your favourite T-shirt for everyday wear.
